The Soul Care Ministry offers two main services: pastoral care and spiritual formation.
Pastoral Care
Pastoral care provides a place where you can talk about your relationship with God, your relationships with others, emotional and spiritual concerns, questions about your faith, and a variety of other topics in a safe environment.
The aim of pastoral care is to provide immediate spiritual guidance. We focus on your specific concerns and struggles, such as stress, relationships, doubts and worries, questions about God, emotional struggles, and discernment for living as a believer. Our goal is to provide a safe space for you to share your urgent concerns.
Pastoral care counselors listen to your concerns, pray for you, and if necessary, refer you to resources for long-term care.
Spiritual Formation
Spiritual formation focuses on your relationship with God. The aim is to help you discern God's work in your daily life. Your spiritual companion will walk with you as you discern how God speaks to you, how you respond, and how you live out your relationship with God.
We value spiritual disciplines such as meditation on the Bible, practicing silence and solitude, and listening to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. By learning and practicing these spiritual disciplines, our love for God and our neighbor will deepen in an integrated and holistic way, and we will be able to express it in our mission and service.
Our Mission and Vision
Vision 2: Serve society and people through healing and nurturing the faithful
We offer one-on-one pastoral counseling or spiritual direction for those with personal concerns. We offer training in pastoral care, classes for leadership development, and group
We also offer a variety of online group studies that address specific issues (marital relationships, boundaries, spiritual growth, etc.).
We will continue to work on developing areas of spiritual formation.
Soul Care aims to serve the local church, family and society by contributing to the growth and leadership development of believers.
Vision 3 : Work to spread pastoral care and spiritual formation
Pastoral care and spiritual formation are areas that are not well known in Japanese churches and seminaries. Due to a lack of leaders, it is very difficult to transmit the message in the educational field. In addition, the way churches are run in Japan is becoming more diverse, with aging pastors, a decrease in the number of dedicated people, and concurrent church management by pastors and church leaders, and we are working to provide methods of transmission and education that are appropriate for this environment. We provide low-cost, person-to-person support and involvement, primarily online, so that those on mission can receive educational opportunities regardless of age, location, or position.
Vision 4 : Connecting needs and gifts
Soul Care is committed not only to pastoral care and spiritual formation, but also to building cooperative relationships with missionary organizations working for the mind and spiritual realm around the world, as well as with those in psychology and psychiatry. We do this in order to provide support methods that are appropriate to the situation of those who contact us.
In each area of expertise, we have faith, enthusiasm, and support skills, but due to a lack of networking, we are not able to connect with those in need of support. We plan to enhance our services so that we can be a better relay point in the future so that needs and gifts can meet.
